I have never heard complaints from teachers or school officials. Mainly I think an "at home" thing. He always says he has a "scratch" or it's "stuck" to his leg or pants....

Yes it is. He is just making sure everything is okay down there. My husband is a grown man and he keeps his hands down there. LOL

I know I liked to feel my stuff when I was a child and my son does too, but I think it should probably stop before grade school. By the time he is a teenager, your son should know better than to put his hand in his pants in public. He will end up getting arrested and put on a sexual predators watch list. All men will continue to touch themselves, but need to learn when and where.

Thats a little old to be walking around in public that way.
Masturbating in private for a teen is perfectly normal. But not walking around with his hand in his pants.

yes it is normal IF AND ONLY IF he keeps his hand in his pants most of the time WHEN HE IS ALONE.
no it is not normal if he does this in front of friends and in public places. he needs serious sex education and some moral & civic education.

i have 3 boys and they didnt do that but i have seen alot of boyys do just the same thing as you discribe. i dont know though if you could say yes this is normal or not but it is very common

Yes and No...It is an insecurity ..But in some social circles it is manly? Imagine that...To me it looks stupid..But who am i to judge! Oh yea and have him wash his hands staff infections can be passed that way!

either he is like..."in the mood" (if ya kno what i mean) or he is exploring...I dunno...i kno my half uncle does that and he is like 22. So yeah...he maybe..."in the mood for somethin" little kids do it cuz they are just exploring their body down below. Its normal. We all do that sometime in our lives.

no. cut off his hand! or his reproductive organ. just kiding, yah its normal, but if you are worried, sit him down and tell him the reasons you thing he shouldent do it. eg. disgusting.
