I am a girl that works on a farm. I have calluses on my hands and it is not attractive for girls to have calluses on their hands. So if anybody have any tips it is well needed.

Soak your hands in hot soapy water and gently rub with a pumice stone. Use a hand cream with AHA acids in it to help soften your hands (use it at night too...you can even wear cotton gloves to bed over the lotion so your hands will get even SOFTER). DO NOT cut the calluses off because you will be extremely sore and have a hard time working. And from now on, try to wear gloves all the time when working to help prevent new ones.

Splurge on a manicure. You may not want to have polish, but watch and take notes. I have been getting manicures since I was 16. In my late twenties, I cut out the nail technition and have been doing it myself now.

I agree with quite a few people (sorry I can't recall your names) about wearing gloves.

Soak your hands in hot soapy water and then use a pumice stone to rub off the dead skin build up, afterwards apply hand cream. I have to warn you though it will make your hands sensitive again and the next time you muck out a stall etc you will probably get blisters.

I do landscaping and I can tell you I get them really bad so I learned how to take care of them because I am a girly girl so I invested 40$ into a parafin wax machine, you can get them @walgreens ,sears or a beauty supply and started using it 3 times a week and using a finernailfile (the black rough ones) to help smooth them and it works!! I do not have calouses anymore! It also works on dry/cracked heels!!!

calluses are good. they keep you from getting blisters. If you are hell bent on getting rid of them, you can take a pumice stone to them. I don't think you can prevent them, other than through lack of work.
