If there are aliens out there why would they be any more advanced than we are?

Ok, just to prove what a mook I really am, here's my theory.

Aliens are people from earth that have come back in time to look at what they once were.

Spaceships are the ships we built and refined to colonize other planets. Since we gained so much with technology, our fingers grew longer to accomidate the amount of typing we do, our eyes grew bigger to see more information and read it. Our brains grew bigger while our bodies grew smaller.

I just think it's a matter of us from the future being curious from the us in the past. So, they're more advanced because they're us!

Assuming the universe is 10 billion years old. And that man is 3 million years old. And that the technology is expanding at exponential rates, i.e. look at the last 50 years compared to the last 3 million years of humanity, or the last 6000 if u are a bible man, You can assume that a civilization that has been evolving for, lets say, a billion years and therefore is a billion years old- you can assume that they would be much more advanced than we are!

They might be more advanced and they might be less advanced. If the universe really is infinite, it would stand to reason that there are some out there who are more advanced and some who are less. It seems unlikely that we would be at one extreme or the other.
