I seriously doubt Shaun Alexander comes to you, so I would take either Larry Johnson or LT, whichever comes to you.
You also have to consider QB's a little sooner in the draft since you are starting 2 and will probably need a good backup. I would NOT take Manning with the #3 pick because you'll be screwed at RB. I disagree that this year will be deep...after the first 5 there is a significant drop-off/guys surrounded with question marks/injury history.
Same with your DEF...usually I wait until round 14...if you do that you'll end up with some really crappy ones. Once you get your main positions filled (QB, RB, WR, TE), I would go in rounds 9 and 10 and get your 2 DEF. You might get a "sleeper" one at the end.
Don't overvalue the TE position, I personally think it's real weak this goaround. If Gates gets more then 7 TD's I will be really surprised. I think Todd Heap is going to have a monster year and if you have a good value chance to take him, I think he'll surprise with McNair now in Baltimore.
And whatever you do, do NOT take a kicker until your last pick! I saw someone take Neil Rackers with his #1 pick last night and almost fell out of my chair. No kicker in this decade has ever led fantasy kicking 2 years in a row AND some of these guys finished 4th or 5th the following season. You just don't know.
I hope all this helped, you definitely take LT or LJ with the #3 pick. If you are fortunate enough to have Alexander fal to you, you are going to win your league!

No question about it, take whoever is left out of Ladainian Tomlinson, Larry Johnson, Shaun Alexander. If the first two team owners are fools and more than one of those is available, pick them in that order.

yeah, in a league like this i'd likely bypass for MJD at third, and then with the thirteenth p.c.. take an real end QB. likely the first time I actually have ever reported take a QB with the 2d p.c...... yet its a really loopy scoring equipment. After that i'd bypass for 2 extra RBs, and then fill the WRs...

This is very easy.... one of these guys will fall to you. I think you will end up with LaDanian Tomlinson. He's my 3rd rated running back. I have Larry Johnson rated #1 and Shaun Alexander at #2.
