I find myself listening almost exclusively to classic rock from before my time, with only of a few artists of today tickling my fancy. Any recommendations that you feel would appeal to my style of music would be appreciated.

Same here bro, I can't stand the stuff that is around today...

I guess it all depends on what kind of older stuff you like. I really enjoy Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, etc. If you like alot of bass guitar, I highly (HIGHLY) recommend Incubus (especially their older stuff). Good songs are Hilikis, The Warmth, just to name a few...

Also, new band Wolfmother is completely awesome. They sound like a mix between Rush/Zeppelin/and The Strokes. Listen to Joker and The Thief and White Unicorn...

check out ryan adams. he is so good he mixes country and rock. Ray davies from the kinks has solo stuff out and it is very good and the singer from pink floyd also has solo stuff and Paul Mccartney, Neil Young, and Paul Simon all have new stuff also check out: My Morning Jacket, Mat Kearney, Black Rebel Mortorcycle club, The Killers, KT Tunstall, Death Cab for Cutie, and never discredit Jimmy Eat World. Dont forget there are still some classic rock bands alive and Kicking, the Rolling stones and U2 regularly tour.
