You can be Christian and still believe in evolution.
Intelligent Design is just creationism renamed - God made everything as they are now. This is a theory only believed by a handful of people in the United States in an attempt to have Creationism taught in schools. It is not a scientific theory.
Evolution is the belief that all living things decended from a common ancestor. Billions of years of natural selection, mutations and genetic drift seperated species. Here's how...
The same organisms in different environments would pass on traits to their offspring which would either be advantagous or fatal.
For example, a flock of island birds got separated. Island birds had both long and short beaks, just like some people have long fingers and some have short fingers.
A bunch of island birds lived in a rocky area and a bunch in a forest. The rocky birds and the forest birds each had four chicks, two with long skinny beaks and two with short strong beaks. In order to get insects from under the rocks the short strong beaks were advantagous and the long skinny beaks were fatal; but in the forest, to get insects from under the bark the long skinny beaks were advantagious and the short strong beaks were fatal.
Generations later because of the traits passed on to their offspring. Two different species evolved, the forest birds with their long skinny beaks and the rocky birds with short strong beaks.
What does this have to do with Christanity? Well you can believe in evolution and believe in Adam and Eve. God created Adam and Eve at the time Cro Magnons walked the earth. Homo sapiens had to exist when God created Adam & Eve or the whole human population rose through incest.
Proof? The Rh factor, protiens from the rhesus monkey that determines our blood types. Our DNA is 97-98% identical to a chimpanzees. The fossil record shows evolution happening in a timeline.
You can be open minded and intelligent and still believe in Jesus Christ.

i believe scientists are difficulty-free persons that're powerfuble at what they do. they have made an overpowering case for evolution, and an really reliable one for the vast Bang. yet beforehand creationnists get all excited, no, a unexpected selection by using God isn't between the numerous competing theories. As for wise layout, the way you modern-day it the following, it is also from time to time known because the God that instruments the Universe in action. it isn't available to make certain it really is validity, because that likely, that God left no hint. There are 2 issues of it. a million) That God does not fulfill believers besides. he's somewhat too aloof for them. 2) Occam's razor cuts by using Him like butter. you're in reality asserting a non-observable God has set each and every thing in action. you may take Him out of the equipment without affecting some thing. it really is extra of a mystic's answer. it really is high quality with me. even though it has little position in rational discourse.

its either so intelligent all the errors will become clear at the end as presented by a god or godess or it started out intelligent then went a bit wrong so the gods godesses are trying to think up a solution. its got to be some intelligence involved i cant beleive it all an accident that then evolved in crazy ways.

Either position requires faith. Evolution is still called a "Theory" because it has not and cannot be proven. Unfortunately, I cannot show anyone "Creation" either. It was long ago. So my opinion? In the Book of Romans, chapter one, verses 19 and following I read something that makes sense. The Bible merely says that humanity knows there is a God, and that He is unique from us. Do I know there is a God? Yes; and I knew it long before I ever entered any church. Who taught me? Well, God put it in the hearts of all humans.

hey, Robert C, evolution never happened. You said that evolution led to Christianity and the bible, so if you believe the bible then you believe that God created us in his own image, so what you're saying is that we started out as bacteria and evolved into humans, but if God created us in his own image then ur saying that God is bacteria...
Anyways, I can't really PROVE that the bible is true, but I can disprove one of the biggest arguments against it. According to science, the Earth is several billion years old, but according to the bible it's only about 6000 years old. Scientists use carbon dating to tell how old the earth is, but a few years back there was a farmer who's cow died, he went back a year later, dug it up and took one of the bones in to have it carbon dated and they told him that the bone had to be sevaral thousand years old.

in my opinion, regardless, there has to be some all powerful force that set everything in motion for evolution, which brings us to itelligent design. who's design is it, which ends up going back to Christians and the Bible.
