It depends on what you want to watch on it. If you want to watch photos, svcd, vcd, or other formats then you need one that will play those formats. For a few more dernero you could buy a DVD burner and burn DVDs. I personally would stay away from DVD / VHS combos. Twice the opportunities for something to go wrong. If you could find a DVD player burner tivo combo. Now thats the ticket

identifying to purchase a DVD participant each 12 months in not time-honored. Is it on carpet? in spite of if that's, static might desire to be burning it out. additionally examine the electrical powered energy of your merchants. they may be the incorrect voltage even nonetheless maximum DVD gamers takes virtually all the common ones. What kind are you procuring? do not purchase the cheap stuff, this is much less costly for a reason. And examine for airborne dirt and dust. airborne dirt and dust might desire to clog your DVD participant trapping warmth interior. There must be a warrantee which contain your DVD participant. examine that formerly you purchase one. decent DVD gamers ought to final atleast a 12 months. good success.

Do NOT buy lite-on, its slow slllloooowwwww so slow, takes only a few names dvd discs, and sometimes says you have an invalid discs when you dont; its a rotten machine, but works if you are using it for light use like for a single person, not for a big family. its only dvd, not the dvd.vcr units.
Save your money. go with sony, or GE; GE lasts me for 8 yrs. They are very stable.
