I've heard of training that teaches perfect pitch recognition and recall, and I'm wondering if anyone has had success with it. Thanks.

Yes it is possible. The director of choral singing at Amherst teaches it. I developed it with no training, as did my brother, but I know many who learned it, most of them oboists.

You cant learn perfect pitch. I understand it's something your born with or not. When I was in college we had aural theory and we had only had a handful that had perfect pitch. The rest of us could get close. Such as if a band is out of tune, if they're out of tune together then it sounds ok. To a person who has perfect pitch, it's horrible. Hope I helped.

It's called relative pitch at that point and it is quite possible and widespread.
