Only once... for Christmas. It was such a bummer. I unwrapped the gifts carefully, wrapped them back up, and had to act surprised Christmas morning.

The first year I began looking around for Christmas presents was when I was 8 years old. I was told (by my brother) that our parents were hiding our gifts somewhere in the house. I went to every single hiding place that I could think of without any sign of a present. Years later I found out that our Mother hid everything she got us in the trunk of the car. LOL!

I can honestly say to this day I don't like surprises but I still didn't snoop. I have actually never really been into Christmas.

When I was a child I was the only girl so I had a room to myself. I also had the biggest closet in the house. All the gifts were stashed in the back of it. I not only knew what I was getting but my 6 brother's as well. As an adult it took many years before I could resist the urge to snoop.

I snooped around until I was sure I knew what I was getting, I shook boxes, and all that. Then one year, I thought for sure I knew what I was getting, and I was wrong on every package. I was so let down, so now I never go near anything I might be getting for christmas.

My, God, no. I'm 45 and I still make my husband hide them all until after I've gone to bed Christmas Eve and put them out so I can see them for the first time Christmas morning. Anything else would be soooo devoid of magic.

My mom hid our presents in the attic which had a pull down set of stairs. It would have been impossible to go up there without her knowing about it. She didn't work and was usually home when we were.

As an adult, I find half of the pleasure is in the anticipation.

My son and brother both. Never got to enjoy the spontaneity of the gift. I think instead with the snooping, myself and my parents instead get the satisfaction of maybe one that snuck by...
