first i would chose a topic that is close to you and start dishing out how you feel about it then make it all together into rhymes (or not) and there you go ur a lyricist.

write what you feel. and if what you feel isnt coming out good on paper (or rhyming right) then look at some other songs with a similar meaning for ideas (not plagerism) but yeah. and just bring up Microsoft Word and write something you want in your song like " hurt" or "joyus" or whatever and then go to synonyms and that will give you a new way to say it. good luck! =]

Just start writting down **** that is on your mind. Then go from taking parts of it and putting it together in a way you like and your music goes. Some people it comes really easy and some really hard. Either way, its pretty much on how you are feeling or whats on your mind. I like to write a lot about american government and society.

i sometimes have problems in the lyrical department as well. it helps to be honest, tap into your emotions, try and use words that rhyme and if you cant at least use words with rythm (think shakespear iambic pentameter etc..) when im writing i use a freeform brainstorming session where i just think of words and scenarios then write them down. this helps when i think of chord arragements and such. good luck

use lots of similes and metaphors. That works best. It will get people thinking about what the song means

be sure not to copy anyhone else, think of things that have actually been felt by you, and a good thesaurus is a must too.
