My friend has not had a period for the last 6 weeks she had taken many pregnacy tests and they either dont work or they give a very faint negative. Does anyone have any sugestions on what maybe going on. Oh and she did have an abortion about 2 years ago could that have any effect on it. Any comments and insightes will be apreaciated.

Ok for one she is 22 now and was 19 when she had the abortion. She is ready for a baby now. And how can you be sure she is not preg if the tests didnt always work. I tell her to go too the dr but she doesnt want to.

No the abortion couldn't have something to do with it. You might be contaminating the test some how. The only real way to check is to go to a doctor.

Okay, she hasnt had a period in 6 weeks which neans that she sould get aaccurate reading if she took a pregnancy test. Most pregnacy tests these days predict pregnancy as early as your first missed period day. which means you would only be 2-4 weeks along if you took it and it came back positve on the day you miss your cycle. So, if she has had 2 faint negatives, than sh e is probably NOT pregnant. Another way to know for sure is to go back to the last three times she had sex and estimate whether it was around the time of her 7th to 14 th day after her period bagan (before the one she missed) . Have her take a Clear blue easy they are clear on whether its negative or positive. Good luck

She may be having hormonal problems that need to be checked with a blood test. An abortion 2 years ago should not have any bearing on a pregnancy test now. Sometimes a woman's cycle will also change for no reason.

well if she had an abortion once before why is she pregnant agian? if she doesnt want to have kids use birthcontrol pills or shots AND a condom. then she needs to go to a hospital or free clinic and have the blood test done. she is most likely pregnant or else she is having a very irregular period.

I'm not sure if having an abortion could have an effect, but maybe your friend should see a doctor. How old is she?

well how old is she i am 14 and i miss alot of them but anyway i don't think it could effect any thing or if she is older like say mm about 16 17 maybe she needs to go to the Doctor to c what is going on

She should go get checked. I too have to go to the doctor. I've had my period for 2 weeks. Could she have been pregnant, and had a miscarriage?

she needs to go to the doc. pregnancy test dont always work. i had to havce blood drawn to tell me i was pregnant cause the pregancy test didnt work...
