hmm, how desperate would you be to see a psychic? especially if they told you details that you alone would know?

It's not hard to tell someone details they think they alone know; skilled fake psychics are good at "fishing"--where they mention something like, "Oh, I see that you've been stressed recently, maybe about money," and the person says "oh! Yes! I lost my job a month ago!"

The details you reveal in casual conversation can be assembled into a frightening set of revelations.

I wouldn't be desparate before I saw a psychic--I believe many of them have the skill to tap into awareness patterns that most of us don't see or use. However, I wouldn't pay much for it... more than about $20 for a reading, and you're getting ripped off. Genuine readers (card, palm, astrology, whatever) don't use their gifts & skills to rip people off.

Some psychics seem genuine but others are "fakers" in it for money.
Law enforcement sometimes have used psychics to solve crimes,
so I think they can be of value.
It would depend on the psychic's credentials, if I would seek their
advise in a "desperate" moment. I suspect a good psychic is
hard to find.

if you wanted to know if a psychic is for real, hide your car keys and then call up the psychic to ask him/her where they are
