I am 26 too. I don't feel old, or any where close to it yet. I miss my Mom being here the most. She passed away 4 months ago. I miss the care free days of college, and wish I would have appreciated those days more. It sure was nice to have no responsibilities! However, I wouldn't want to go back and do it all over again.
I'm living right now in the moment. Taking it all day by day. The future looks bright, but I'm ok today.
I'm a happier person today than I was at 20 even with everything that has happened. I have a much clearer idea of who I am, what I want from this life, and what's important vs. meaningless.
26 is young!!! I agree with you though, that life goes faster now than it ever did before.

I feel you...I'm about to turn 30 so look on the bright side, at least you've made it this far and with age should come wisdom. It doesn't always but it can if you want it to. Life goes by too fast to dwell on the past, keep your happy memories with you and remember to make more with each passing day. When you get into your 30's and 40's you'll miss your 20's as much as you miss your childhood and your teenage yrs now.

As you reach each new decade, your perception changes.
While still in your 20's, you may get a panicky feeling that these are the "best" years...and they are slipping away. This is because popular media hypes the youth market. This gives the distorted picture that all the good times are when you are young.
Actually, things only get better the older you get...really!
What happens is you become your own person as you "age"
and everything will fall into place.
The important thing is to take good care of health as the
years progress...keep learning and "don't worry...be happy!"

I would NEVER want to be a child or a teenager again. Young and dumb is not a great memory. My 20's were good for memories of being reckless and irresponsible. I really feel the same in my mid-40's as I did in at 30. I look forward to being old and irresponsible and fooling around with my wife again when the kids are gone and the dog dies.

The older you get the faster time fly's by. You feel bad in your 30's and I have heard you feel better in your 40. By the time you are 50 and 60 your just glad to be here.
Stop thinking about your childhood and look to what's coming. Many good things happen along the way
☺

Wait till you you get close to 40. I have missed a lot of years. It seems to get faster the older you get. I still cannot believe that I have been married for 6 years and that I have been almost 5 years in my current job. It still amazes me that this decade is almost over. 4 more years and done. Last year I celebrated my 20 year high school reunion. Try to image when you hit your 10 year reunion. Then you start to feel life is passing by.

I'm 27. I miss those days too. There are things I wish I would have had the guts to do but can't change now. I don't feel bad. My life has been blessed and I am happy to still look and feel pretty darn good for my age.

LOL! Poor thing, I know how you feel. I felt the same way too when I was 26. I'm now 49 and still have lots of years left and know what? I'm lovin' every minute of it! Trust me, you will, too. I have friends that are in their 70s and 80s and they're so full of life it's amazing!
Relax kiddo, you've got a loooooong way to go :-)

Well i'm in control of my life and i am loving breaking into adulthood so far but i do miss the old days of the past. They are merely mermories now. All u can do is reminisce those wonderful moments of enjoyment but u should not dwell on the past but should look toward the future and what it holds 4 u.

Oh, to be 26 again! You still have your whole life to live. But it's very important that you figure out what you really want to do with it. Stop counting years and concentrate on doing something that you really enjoy doing, wherever it takes you. Life can be good if you're doing what really makes YOU happy. Figure that out and make it happen!
