Becuase They Are Idiots

2006-07-08 15:45:11 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

Selfishness seems to be the disease of the age. I can't tell you exactly when or pinpoint why, but somewhere along the line the past few generations have gotten the idea that it's okay and even admireable to be selfish and self-centered. I've also noticed a trend toward the cult of "Victimism". Where people got the idea that every problem in their lives was because someone didn't treat them right is beyond me.

Granted, I'm pushing 50 and I'm probably not "with it" or whatever the current phrase is. When I grew up in the 60's and 70's, we were taught to respect the rights of others. We were taught to take responsibility for our own actions and futures. We worked to unite the world, rather than to divide and subdivide it. Those were kinder and gentler times.

I guess, grandpa, you and I have gone the way of the dinosaur, the vinyl and wax records, and 8 track players. Our ways of doing things are just too hard for the current crop of chronic whiners. Maybe that's why so many of them are living off their parents, college drop-outs and unemployed.

Many reasons, some people are just fed up with life & society these days and take it out on everyone around them. Some people think they're too good for other people - ego issues. Some people have no clue about manners. The list goes on & on. Also, watching all the sitcoms all the time makes some people think that type of humor is really funny -when really it's exaggerated put-down humor (which gets old after a while). Society has become very competitive, and cooperativeness is not highly valued any longer. I just think everyone should try to be nicer.

It's an effective way to silence people, get your way, and induce the politically and judicially challenged to award you money in court.

Enough! Who cares? This is America. A lot of us are tired of people asking us to censor ourselves because they get offended, hamstring ourselves so they have a level playing field, let people attack us because the U.N. hasn't got the backbone to follow up on what it promises.

We are U.S.A. citizens, and Democrat or Republican (I'm not talking about the seditious socialists who keep trying to undermine our country), and we don't care if others are offended. We don't commit crimes, assault neighbors, or arrest each other to please anyone's sensibilities.

If you don't like it, try a country that supports YOUR form of government (general "you" not aimed at our question asker).

I'm not suggesting anyone leave (I wouldn't wish the loss of U.S.A. citizenship on anyone), but it was getting silly for a while there with all the political, social, etc. correctness.

It failed, it was nonsense, we're done with it. Be offended. Be very offended. But be lawful, and most of all, be Patriotic.

People get offended easily due to so many organizations that have played upon peoples emotions to better their cause and not consider the snowball affect it will create.

Emotional thinking vs. critical thinking. The constant bombardment of our hormones and emotional triggers by advertising causes additional stress on the adrenal and thyroid glands, which makes us 'edgy'. Add to that the soup of chemicals that are being added to food to make it taste 'better', and there are plenty of reasons to freak at every little thing.

Because they've been bombarded since birth by the talking heads on TV telling them they should be offended.

Because the femminists raised their boys to be pantywaists and the girls are all on Xanax because they don't understand their roles in society anymore, because being a homemaker is throwing away your opportunity in life.
