Sometimes the symtom my van has is that when I accelerate suddenly the engine dies. I can drive accelerating slowly, otherwise the engine performance shows lack of fuel and turn off. I have to wait for a while then I start the engine it works fine. Yesterdad I had to wait more than four hours.

That link is for OBDII, not OBDI. I don't think OBDI will have a code for the fuel injectors. It's a more basic system with very few parameters measured, as opposed to the newer systems that seem to measure too many.
