Should I read this first?

I am currently reading the City of Embers series and i thought the second book was boring so i stopped reading it but should i read that before i read the prequal to them called The Prohpht of Yonwood

read it like this:
City of Ember
People of Sparks
Prophet of Yonwood (prophet is boring, doesn't really explain any thing, gets off track alot of the time, and is set 50 years before Ember is populated)

if you read Ember first it is better beacause you read on to figure out whats going on

Read the prequal FIRST. That way, you will be reading the story in order.

After THAT, the 2nd book will be a little more interesting.
