The alloys in these magnets include rare-earth metals like samarium and neodymium. None of these metals is particularly toxic in metallic form, but some of their water-soluble salts are. And the alloys, as far as I know, either don't oxidise easily or they forn a thin protective oxide coat that prevents further corrosion, just like aluminium and stainless steel.

some are some aren't toxic, but you shouldn't eat them either way. most won't corrode in air, but it depends on the alloy used
