Well, the US women's soccer team has won several times in some world championship. But... How about the men, aren't they embarassed of themselfs? Isn't the goverment doing something...not just fun by themselfs, having their own private sport!!??#$

Women's soccer hasn't been around for THAT long. Soccer held a decent amount of interest in the US when the first Women's World Cup happened in 1991. The US Women's team was on the ball.
However, the first MEN's World Cup was in 1930...when the U.S. wasn't very interested in the sport. Therefore, the US men have a huge uphill battle to catch up with countries who have been playing in it full blast all along...

I wouldn't say they're more talented. They've just had more success. And only because other countries haven't put the funds into womens soccer the way the US does. If other countries put the time and effort into womens soccer, then I'd bet you the american women wouldn't be all that great either. Heck, I think I've watched the Canadian womens soccer team beat the Americans a few times. As you can see the men have a much greater challenge than the women.

This is because the US women's team is more advanced in the soccer world than many other countries. Also, in many countries, women rarely play soccer or are not even allowed to play so therefore they don't sport a good team in return resulting in less competition for the US team. However, the US women's team has a lot of talent and the men's team does not have as much talent as say...Brazil...so they can't measure up. The women's team rocks well, because they are awesome! :)

Stefan and Roli poli or whatever need to have their heads examined! U.S. sports more exciting than the World Cup?! The most exciting thing about the NBA is guessing what percentage (80%) of the NBA players will be arrested over the summer. And baseball (other than the Mets) only gets exciting during the playoffs and World, er, North American Series! ; - )

Simple... Soccer is a women's sport.... The real men are playing basketball, football, baseball, and hockey... We can't help it if the europeon men like playing women sports... congrats to them..

in any sport men's competition is more tough than women. i dont mean to say that usa women's soccer is not good at all, no. in tennis men play best of five while wome play best of three.
