Pretty Baby (as others have posted.). It told the story of a photographer who lived with the prostitutes of New Orleans in 1900 (back when there was a New Orleans).
Among other things, there was a scene of her standing naked in a washtub while her mother scrubbed her; and she was auctioned off (or rather her virginity was) in another sequence.
All this was far more racy then than now, and it sounds pretty shocking now.

Pretty Baby--I remember it because she was only about 12 years old and the movie was about her living in a brothel with her prostitute mother,(played by Susan Sarandon) and being the obsession of a photographer pervert, (played by Keith Carradine).

The movie was called Pretty Baby. She played a pre-teen who was living in a brothel. She meets with a photographer who becomes obsessed with her. I think it was made in 1978 but was set in the 20's.
