Symptoms of a stroke depend upon the cause of the stroke as well as the part of brain affected. Generally the symptoms include a decrease in the level of consciousness, sensory loss on one side, paralysis, visual field loss, speech defects, mental confusion, hypertension, headache, nausea, vomiting, and difficulty breathing. Hypertension is the single most important risk factor for stroke. Other factors include heart disease, diabetes, smoking, and hyperlipemia (elevated blood cholesterol).
Call 911 if you have these symptoms.

A stroke is when a small blood clot forms and travels to the brain. The main cause for most strokes is hypertension or (high blood pressure). The symptoms depend on where in the brain the stroke occurred. Here are some of the symptoms:Weakness on one side is common, unable to talk is another, Blurred vision, numbness, mouth drooping on one side, the inability to understand. Sometimes symptoms last a short while and go away. This is what is called a transient ischemic attack. Blurred vision and numbness can point to a lot of conditions that need immediate medical attention. Diabetes, heart attack are just a couple of possibilities. With the symptoms you may be experiencing it is imperative that you go to the emergency room of your choice preferably by ambulance.Self diagnosis is not going to help you. Fainting is not a normal occurrence.Take care of yourself now. Other people need you.

Well the first symptom is not being able to spell the word "WHAT".
You should be very concerned.
A stroke... is basically a lack of flow to a part of the brain.
A blockage or high blood pressure or cholesterol can cause it.
Symptoms vary... Yes, Weakness, blurred vision, numbness, difficulty speaking... it usually only effects one side however.
Fainting can be a symptom but not usually... at least at first.,

High blood pressure: Stress, sodium, being overweight, eating too much red meat, genetics, heart disease, plaque build up...the list goes on. One thing you could do is cut down on the amount of meat you eat, especially red meat...eat good meats like chicken and fish but keep it to a good limit. Drink water regularly, get plenty of sleep every night, and minimize the stress in your life. There are also medications that help with this. Call your doctor and schedule an appointment to have yourself checked out.
