I am chinese so i think i should know best the chinese actress who acted well. It was GONG LI in the Memoirs of Geisha the one who acted 'bad' character one. Definitely not Zhang Ziyi because she is known as arrogant and doesn't bring out her role well in Memoir of Geisha. Instead, Gong Li was known for her x-factor and charisma where she can bring out the role she acted in every movies she's in.

Gong li is an excelent chinese actress. I loved her in Ju Dou and Farewell to my concubine. for those who do not know her she appears in the recent movie Memoirs of a Geisha.
