ive been using pcs for basicly all of my life ever since win95.. one of the mac ads caught my eye and i was like 'hey let me go and look at them', went to the apple store and the macs looked much better than pcs;the round shape and everything.. anyways when i tried it, it was so complicated, no start menu no desktop and you couldnt even right click anything, the worst thing was you couldnt even upgrade it, like to add more ram or get a new graphic card, u had to go to the manufacture.. it even seems that it has less features.. ill give the looks of a mac 11 but everything else isnt that good..

I switched to Mac last year and I felt just like you in the beginning.
Annoying mouse control, shortcuts completely alien to standards, complications with mounting and unmounting Cd's or external drives...
However, slowly but inexorably, the Mac won my heart, respect and awe.
Although I did upgrade my RAM (the parts are standard, inexpensive and can be installed painlessly); I suddenly found that the interface is lighting fast and you can accomplish task s easier than Windows. Additionally, you get more bang for your buck... the applications you get with the Mac are essential ones with a no-nonsense approach that let you get your work done in no time.
About the mouse... you will find that if you plug an standard PC mouse you will get very much the same results of "right-clicking", however this is considered a bad habit in the MAC World so I promptly got a "mighty mouse" and learned how this is done the right way in a MAC (using the control key).
At the end, it is all about what you need... today I'd say PC or MAC, most things you do in a computer can be accomplished with both platforms... if you are a heavy gamer or require an specific business app, stick to the PC, if not, give Mac a chance and I'm sure you will not regret and you will not go back.

first of all, mac is UNIX based not linux.. also you shouldn't buy a computer just because the case is round and shiny, just tuck the computer under the desk and nobody will see it anyway. Besides, thinkpads are sexier than macs :D

Personally I feel that macs are for idiots who don't know what they're doing, or impatient people who dont even want to know. PCs are ideal for running linux, which is better than windows AND mac os. Plus macs support apple, which is entirely evil.

ebay has wide variety of ram to choose from, which costs a lot less than buying from apple. yeah, it takes awhile to get used to, with the blue apple, the file, edit, tools, ect, at the top instead of in the window itself. i think in the long run macs are better, because it's a more stable operating system, and opposed to microsoft, tech support is free.

You can install mac OS on PC now.
I used MS OS mostly, I couldn't let go because I had to play games. It's just because you are used to with windows platform. If you get used to mac(which is linux base), you won't go back to windows. (unless again you have to play games :)
