I must admit I avoided watching this movie for months because I didn't think it would be my type of movie since all I watch is voilent action movies. However, my sister made me stay up one night and watch it and I fell in love with it! You have to admire the sets and the singing and how much work those actors had to do to make the film so great. Plus Gerard Butler was an awesome Phantom : )

The phantom is hot, even his deformity isn't bad. I love his hair slicked back like that, yummy. I've had the lyrics memorized off the soundtrack since 2004 and i only say the movie once before today. I got the DVD today so i got to rewatch it multiple times and it's sooooo much better the 4th time. I love analyzing everyline perfectly. I think about how to lyrics relate to the scene and why the song writer used specific words. definately not a guy movie if guys are like my father and brother, nope. Oh well, i love it alot!

Oh my stars and garters, yes! Gerard Butler has a voice like dark honey over gravel (shivers in delight) and Minnie Driver was absolutely divine! My one complaint is Emmy Rossum, she wasn't passionate or innocent enough for my tastes.
But really, nothing beats the books. Gaston Leroux, Susan Kay, Frederick Forsythe...all pure genuis.
Did you enjoy the original Lon Chaney "Phantom" as well?
I've seen, read, listened to and collected them all, but he is by far the ultimate.

YES! In the 2004 movie the transition from a play to the big screen was great. The actors and actresses they got for the roles performed superbly. The music was excellent. I only wished it would've lasted longer. Oh well, I guess I'll need to watch it again and again.

I am so obsessed with this movie its verging on pathetic. i saw it 3 times in theaters and bought the soundtrack the day after the first time i saw it. i bought the dvd the day it came out. i read the book last year. i saw the play a couple weeks ago. i have a movie poster, autographed picture of gerard and emmy, 3 music boxes, a clock, a watch, and various other memorabilia. i watch it all the time, sometimes 3 times in one night! like i said, pathetic.
