"Seasons in the Sun" is one

"The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" because I remember the storm as a child

"Lemon Tree" the lyrics are sad but the melody is good

The ones that remind you of the past and make you cry are the saddest songs of all and I guess they are different for everyone.

Those are metal bands.
Other sad songs are songs sung at funerals becuase at those moments they seem to fit right in with the scene of a dead person, but also promote peace and hope.
