What do the Blue Jays need to do this season? Should we just sell off the pending free agents such as Schoenweis, Spier, and Lilly for prospects and build for next year or trade for a bat or pitcher to try and catch the Sox. This recent series in KC has me DEPRESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My thinking is that Riccardi gives this team two weeks after the All Star Break to get their act together. IF they are out by more then 10 games, the history of teams making up that kind of deficit is n't very extensive. Hopefully Boston stumbles a bit.

the jays are 7 and 4 against the red sox this year and they were very good against them last year so i think they have a shot. they've got 8 more games against them and could win 6 which almost erases the deficit. I don't think they should necesarily buy but i dont think they should sell either unless the get hammered coming out of the break.

Well . as a Rays fan , im supposed to envy you.
but i would love it if for once the Jays go to the playoffs , instead of the Sox or Yankees.
im am now gunna root for the Jays .. except of course when they play the Rays. I would love it if the Jays would go out before te deadline and make some big trades for some big hitters .. i say trade Lilly . should be able to get a decent bat for him .. ecsecially to a team desperate for sum pitching ...devilrays...
oh n its not all bad . Jays did win today .. Lilly almost blew it giving up five runs in five innings though ..

Nobody will catch the White Sox and the Tigers this year. But
every team is rebuilding. Only one player in four is a hit in the
majors. Do as the Minnesota Twins do under manager Ron
Gardenhier. Just try and come up with the best team you can
each season!

I don't blame you one bit for being depressed. I would take your idea and sell off all of those pending high priced free agents for some prospects and build for the future. I don't think they will ever catch the Red Sox this year.

Have to call them as I see them.

OMG! I can't believe the recent losses to KC, the WORST team in the AL, and 2nd worst overall. They should've swept this series with ease!!

Their starting pitchers need improving. Halliday can't carry the team alone. It's about time they finally got rid of Towers!

Their offense isn't a problem.

I think we're a few trades away from making some serious impact in the AL East.
