physical beauty, what you were born with absolutely should not matter, but the "stuff" having to do with appearance does to a certain extent. Put it this way; it doesn't hurt. One should keep him/herself "up" for his/her partner. If you go somewhere you shouldn't be looking like "mashed ants".

Of course appearance matters. It's not the most important thing but it is important. You do have to have a phycial attraction towards whoever you're with. The car may run well but if it doesn't look good you don't want to drive it!

appearance does matter to start a relationship, but if it becomes a must to carry on that relationship then I guess that relationship has lost its real meaning.
