sry, the question...Do you think changing the sex of the baby before it's born, when have an effect on evolution? (meaning, what if one gender overweighs the over, and then theres only females or males)

hmmm... if people become more accepting of it, then certainly. however, it depends which gender is wanted more. if there is still an equal balance of parents wanting sons and daughters, then I think we wil be fine. however, if one gender outweighs the other, then we will have some major issues. I hope the idea of choosing your unborn childs gender never becomes socially accepted.

You can't change the sex of a baby once it's conceived.
Some places (China, India) have a preference for boys over girls, and either abort or kill baby girls - not allowed, but done anyway. China especially has a "one child" policy, so a lot of families want that one to be a boy.
This has given some places an overbalance of males. Will it affect evolution? no, because it's not changing the genetics. It would take thousands of years of this sort of behaviour for it to make a difference. (I.e. the genes of those more likely to have boys would survive more). However, if that society stays one husband, one wife, one or two child limit, then there isn't any evolutionary advantage. Whether you're having boys through genetics or luck, you have the same number of children.
The social consequences will probably fix things before then. Right now, India and China have the custom of the bride's family providing a dowry - which can be quite large in India, another reason to not want girls. When families see a lot of men wanting to marry their (scarce) daughters, then maybe they'll start charging a dowry; the social balance will change and women will be worth more.
The simple answer is, you mess with mother nature at your peril.

I'm not sure I understand your question.
You can't change the sex of a baby before it's born. Sex is determined when sperm and egg meet.
Yes, there are some adults who have changed their sex, but no surgeon would ever attempt something like that on a baby in utero.
You can CHOOSE the sex of a baby before it's born through in vitro fertilization and preimplantation genetic diagnosis. It costs a lot, and it's only an option open to couples who are at risk of passing along a sex-linked genetic disease OR who already have children and are attempting "family balancing." (Some people would argue that only the first situation warrants PGD and that the second is unethical.)
But in some countries there is a definite cultural preference for boys, and sex ratios are already WAY out of whack. Right now, it's not good to be a female fetus in China or India. And in a few years, it won't be good to be a young man looking for a spouse.
But it's not likely to have an effect on human evolution. Not enough people practice sex-selective abortion or the like to have an impact on our species as a whole. Thank goodness!
There's an interesting thread about this on the Science Museum of Minnesota's "Science Buzz": www.smm.org/buzz
Click on Buzz, then Polls, then "Should parents be able to choose the sex of their children?"

Well, it sort of is already in China where 71 percent of the 20-40 age folks are now men given the one-child policy. Men now cannot find brides since the girls were either aborted or given away to orphanages in record numbers so couples could have their prized son.
So now the country is overwhelmed with men of marrying age and there are no brides to be found.
If we start allowing people to muck around with genetics it's just not a good thing.
