Is it my duty as a progressive liberal to help republicans understand the value of freedom and liberty?

What conservatives hate:
1)They hate freedom of speach and the right to speak out against corrupt republican regimes
2)They hate any law that protects animals and the environment
3)they hate diplomacy and believe that war and killing innocent women and children is a good thing to do
4)they hate the constitution and the bill of rights that protects Americans from corrupt governments
5)They hate any measure that will eliminate our dependence on foreign terror oil
6)They hate anyone that disagrees with them on anything and they believe their own lies
7) they support ann coulter who has bashed 9/11 spouses (She is no different than a terrorist)
8)They hate homeland security. Since 9/11 it has become lacking. only 5 % of cargo coming in is inspected
9)They hate mothers and fathers of fallen soldiers to speak out against their lies and corruption like Our brave Cindy Sheehan
10) there is much more but not enough room to post

Help us, please! Clearly we're more stupid than you.

Of course, not everyone who claims to be a conservative is truly a conservative (and that includes the misnamed neo-cons). But, point by point, you're off base quite a bit.

1. We support free speech completely, even when you speak out against things we believe in. Have you been arrested for your words? I didn't think so!
2. These are complicated issues, but frankly, I do hate laws that place the lives of animals on an equal footing with the lives of humans, yes.
3. No one likes war. Conservatives recognize that it is sometimes necessary to defend the freedom and liberty you claim to love. I didn't support the invasion of Iraq, but I also don't support the effort to undermine our work there. Saddam was an evil man, and murdered many of his people. He was also a potential threat to peace (he did invade Kuwait, remember).
4. That's just stupid. Doesn't deserve a response.
5. Kinda silly. Isn't it the conservatives who want to drill in ANWR? Why do you think they want to do that? You may disagree with it for other reasons, but it clearly counters your #5.
6. How does this make conservatives any different than leftists?
7. Ann Coulter is a lightening rod personality. I don't always agree with her, but I can't say that I agree with the 9/11 spouses she disagreed with either. Horrible events give one a lot of leeway, but they don't give anyone carte blanche to say whatever they want without fear of opposition.
8. This is ludicrous. I mean, yes, I do hate homeland security. But clearly, I'm in the minority among conservatives, who seem willing to give up just about any kind of liberty to search every man woman and child. You can't honestly believe that we have less security now than we did before 9/11, can you? I mean, no one can be that blind!

You seriously need to step off your soap box and stop touting your ideology as the only "right" one. To say that anyone who doesn't agree with you is stupid, evil, or just wrong is about the most intolerant thing a person can believe. The liberal elite in this country have been spouting this crap for years. You need to stop accepting everything they regurgitate like it was decreed by God on Mt. Sinai, and realize that there are good and bad aspects to BOTH parties.

Look, in order to get elected you have to get the sheep to follow you. The population is much older now and liberty and freedom are not important issues with the old folks. They want security and are willing to trade almost everything for it including the young people's lives. Young people don't vote as often as old people do.
