Well it is quite simple really. Politicians are voted into office. The way they get elected is by being popular with the public and getting money from companies and organizations that have an agenda. Most of these companies consist of OIL, GAS, INSURANCE, AND GOVERNMENT CONTRACT COMPANIES like Boeing Lockheed Martin, Bell and a few more aerospace and Tank and armor companies. The Oil companies stand to lose the most by reform and change so they pay the most in political contributions thus buying the politicians favor.
Anything a politician does to reduce global warming is not politically correct among his or her peers so that will never happen. The key thing is this. He who has the gold makes the golden rules and as long as politicians are allowed to take money from lobbyist corruption in politics will always exists and as long as corruption exists the environment will always come last.
Try walking to school or work or ride a bike or use mass public transportation. If everyone did this it would reduce emissions to some degree. Every time i look over and see another vehicle drive by it only has one person in it going somewhere and 4 or 5 could have ridden in it for the same price instead of 5 cars with 5 people burning 5 times the gas.

because all that's been proven is that the temperature has risen for the last 400 years.

So, yes - there is "global warming" - but the cause is uncertain.

It's irresponsible to jump to comclusions on partial evidence. CO2 levels have risen in the last hundred years, and the temperature has risen .6c, with most of the rise happening 1880-1920.

The real question is, why are so many people jumping to fals conclusions? People are so reactionary, and always afraid the world will end. Guess what - it'll outlive all of us.

That would be like killing the goose that lays golden eggs. Let's face it, Politicians think that they are above all else, and if they were to agree with global warming, then they would have to take action against it which would severely cut down on their take of the graft which they gain from oil sales, promotion, etc.

Real?

I doubt if anyone denies it's 'real'. I suspect they just question whether this is a long-term phenomenon.

Most of us are a little older than you, and we all remember the environmental movement using scare tactics 20 years ago telling us about 'global cooling' and that we were doomed because of the new ice age coming. I guess we're all a little more skeptical these days.

for the usual reasons they deny things, money.....but i have to say that in my opinion, global warming is a natural progression of the earth, after the warmest parts we will go into an ice age....just cause we don't like it doesn't mean we can change it.....it has happened numerous times already and will keep on happening as long as the earth rotates on its axis and revolves around the sun

Because there is a divided opinion on it. Some say it is a fact others say it is just a normal warming cycle that the earth is going through, as it has since the beginning of time.

Global warming doesn't coincide with Jr.'s agenda for oil and industry. If his pockets aren't getting filled, he pouts. As long as he and all of his old fart friends stay rich, the rest of the world can go the hell.

In short, they are not nice people.

Can you imagine a Politician telling people their fuel bills will sky-rocket, mass consumption must be reigned in and that cheap flights/fuel/living is a thing of the past? Thsi is what we need to do, but no body will vote in someone who says they will do this

They are controlled by corporations that would be hurt by trying to curb global warning. The American public doesn't really care about this, so they keep electing the fools.

Because as typical politicians, they don't want to admit it is a problem because then they would have to do something about it.
