The first one is the best, hands down. The sequels were fancy and flashy, and totally lacked the originality and finesse of the first one.

I enjoyed all of them, mainly because of the philosophies they entail.
I've seen each movie over 20 times (yes, I'm a Matrix freak) and I've analyzed ever aspect of the 3 films. I enjoyed them, and I think a lot of people don't like the sequels because they can't understand the philosophies behind them.
The movies leave behind many unanswered questions, which make you debate and think about them. A good movie will leave you thinking, and this is exactly what the Matrix trilogy does. The Matrix is my favorite movie of all time, and the uniqueness of this movie is an understatement.
Watch all 3 of them.

Yes, watch them, but, if you keep on asking people what they think about a movie that you are about to watch you should as well not watch it at all. Watch the movie first, think about what was good and what wasn't good in the movie, then talk to people about it. Wouldn't you like to have your own opinion about something?

Everyone needs to see at least the first Matrix. If you don't take a stand on it, you will end up being affected unwittingly by everyone else's reaction to it. The matrix amalgam is as old and pervasive as Descartes, Plato's Cave, and the Bible.

The Matrix , is a super idea and can very well be a reality. if u wanna understand the whole idea, u got to watch all 3 parts. if it's just for the graphics ...etc , u still have to watch all parts , cos each is soo cool in their own way.
it's such a brilliant concept , u never know , u too can be in it !

People are very divided on the following two though.

the first one is the only good one, it has a lot of suspence and the director puts alot of emphasis on the action. as for the other two, my main thoughts were" WTF!. it is hard to understand, horrible emothion settings, and terrible plot, so i say what the **** and watch em' all but if u only see one, see the first one.
