..its probly a blown fuse.

convertable tops are not run on a fluid....there run on power...try finding the fuse for the convertable top either under the hood..or near the driver door.(kick panel area i think)...

it might actually be the switch on your parking brake handle that sends a signal when you pull the parking brake up ... you have to put the car in park and set the parking brake to work the top, right? we had one of those mustangs come into the shop a whole back with the same problem .... turns out it was that switch
