Bloom County was great. It had Opus the penguin and Bill the Cat. Opus hated cockroaches. I loved that strip.

Now you're making me feel old. Milo Bloom, Opus, Bill the Cat, Steve Dallas, etc. I was in college when they came out, and I have the whole collection.

That strip was one of the best of all time. Right up there with Calvin and Hobbes and the Far Side.
I was very disappointed to see this series go away. I don't know why the clever and funny series leave, and garbage like Family Circus and Beetle Bailey are still churned out.

Bloom County was excellent! Opus rules! I've had mornings that felt as if my butt was dragging on the ground behind me.

It was great. Berke Breathed has a new strip back in many newspapers called Opus Returns.

oh yeah...there was even a Christmas cartoon featuring most of the characters (especially Opus and Bill) called "A Wish For Wings That Work"...i would love to find that one for my private collection...
