The top hinge on my door came lose from the door frame. The holes in the frame are stripped, so just putting it back on won't work. Any ideas on how to fix it besides moving the hinge or using longer screws?

Too easy, yep longer screws are thr answer. Much easier than moving the hinge and it will also add a little more beef to your entire door jamb. I replaced my screws even before they stripped out and never a problem

If your dead set on repairing without longer screws, you can fill in the stripped holes with a couple of toothpicks and carpenters glue. the holes should then have some substance for the screws to bite into. I would replacing at least one screw per hinge with one long enough to go through the jamb and into the 2x4 behind it. this will greatly strengthen the connection.

take the hinge pin out, and inject wood glue into the hole and put the screws back in. you can use longer screws if you want, but you dont have to. let it sit for a few days to ensure the glue has completly dried and put the pin back in. also, avoid opening and closing the door while the glue is drying.

Get some wooden golf tee's and glue. put a dab of glue in there then drive in the tee with a hammer, once the tee sets, trim off the excess with a utility knife or small wood saw. Then just use new screws and reattach hinge

You could drill new holes in the hinge, so the screws woudn't be going into the same stripped holes in the wood. You'd need to drill countersinks for the holes too.

Use longer wood screws. Hopefully if the screws go farther into the frame you will screw into a solid piece of wood.

do now not circulate the exhibit, bypass away it because of the fact it fairly is and take the assembly aside. That happened to me on my HP 6720s. In my case the liquid crystal exhibit cover cracked and so did the bezel. I took it aside and welded the hinge decrease back on an identical time. i'm even nonetheless finding for an option to the canopy and bezel.
