While Las Vegas used to market itself as a family-friendly atmosphere in the 90's, times have definitely changed - with the recent campaign "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas," the city has gone back to its roots and is certainly not promoting itself as a family friendly destination any longer.

I'm 16 yrs-old and i was born and being raised here in Las Vegas. Are you crazy? Do you have any idea how bored out of our minds teens are here on the weekends? It's always we either hang out at the movie theaters, cosmo bowling, or Circus Circus. There's nothing left for us to do. At least we used to have another option, Wet~n~Wild. But what do they do?!? They tear it down to build condos. For what? So, that more adults will come to Las Vegas and spend a lot more time here and gamble all of their money away. I'd say it's already pretty much an adult playground.

Oh yeah, Bro. Every time I have ever been in Vegas, I say to myself, "How I wish Las Vegas was less family friendly, and made more for and adult playground."

Definitely Vegas is the one city in the world that can be described as super family friendly.

If you take Nashville, Santa Fe, San Antonio, New York, Dallas, Seattle, San Fransisco, Boston, etc. etc. etc. You can go to museums in Berlin, Paris, London, historicla sites, zoos, etc. etc. etc.

All of these places are super great but the one problem I have with so many major tourist cities is that they are not as family friendly as Vegas.

I one time even made the mistake of taking a church group of teenagers to Orlando, because we wanted to go to Disney World, and the beaches, and all that jazz, but afterward, I realized, "Boy, that was a huge mistake." Orlando is a sordid, worldly city and I should not have taken a church group there. Next time I will be smarter and take the church kids to the always popular and every family-friendly LAS VEGAS!!!!!!

Dude, if you are serious, then you are a total f*cking retard.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

So I'm going in a couple months, and after spending all this money to go out there, that's the one thing I don't want to deal with is somebody's screaming kids. By adult playground, I'm hoping you don't mean like an ad for Hustler or something, just keeping kids out of the d**n way. We don't go to Disney world and complain there isn't enough gambling and drinking, why do people go to Vegas, and say there isn't enogh for the kids. Cry me a river. Then take your kids somewhere else, people, I didn't tell you to reproduce. Why don't more people do like my parents did when I was little, and just drop us off with family for a week. Me and my brother had a blast getting all the attention, and my parents got to go have fun.

I think it is better if Las Vegas remains open to everyone, at least during the day when familys are out and about. But then have a time of night where certain districts switch to adults only so that shows and gaming can be more adult oriented.

NO! It's for all ages. There are plenty of ADULT ONLY things to do, why spoil it for everyone just 'cos that's what YOU want. Why pick on families? If that's the case, you could "exclude" other" kind of groups.Grow up and realize that the world is for everyone!
Granted,Vegas isn't the best place for younger families but that doesn't mean they should not be allowed to experience the city.

It was that way once--back when people like Moe Dalitz and Benjamin "Bugsy" Segal operated things there. Granted, there isn't a whole lot for the under-21'ers to do, except for the tours of the Hoover Dam and maybe a day at Wet-n-Wild, unless they like to shop!! But, with some planning, you can enjoy a trip to Vegas without seeing anyone under 21--stay in the casinos!!

I thought Las Vegas already wasn't family-friendly. Only a redneck family would go there for kicks. Darn those rednecks and their gambling capital!

What is up with some people? you don't want any kids in Vegas? wow better tell all those families that live there to get rid of their kids. a few of the resorts out there do cater to families but the vast majority don't. or do you just want the circus circus to yourself?
