The embryo is what the fetus is called from the time of conception up until 8 weeks old. So, an abortion that takes place before the 8-week mark is in fact "removing" an embryo.
Apart from any moral considerations, the legal difficulty here is that people could begin selling their aborted embryos, which then would put doctors or others who are unlicensed/unskilled but wanting to profit from abortions in a position of harvesting embryos. This is so illegal it's not even funny. The harvesting of any human body part is illegal for very good reasons--and one reason is because people will take such things as embryos and kidneys and livers and sell them on the black market.
"Wasteful," then, becomes a non-issue. "Waste" is the least of the law's worries when it comes to abortion.
I don't know if you were looking for a serious answer to your question or were just trying to hit people's raw nerves. But here is your reasonable and serious answer.

Yes, abortion involves removing and killing babies. Planned Parenthood and the ACLU are trying very hard to use aborted babies for research or at least make it legal. What they wont tell you is that embryonic stem cells havent produced any results. Adults stem cells have produced results. Yes, abortions are wasteful and should be absolutely banned from the planet.

It is true that some abortions include embryos. And its very possible these could be used for stem cell research. However, our government has the strangest idea that research that benefits humantiy is a bad thing. So yes, its wasteful.

i idea embryonic stem cellular study become banned by using President Bush. that is what I save listening to so it would want to be authentic. you're mistaken Shiraz. Liberals include human existence... and a 12 year-old's Constitutional accurate to have an abortion for the time of state strains the position her father and mom gained't discover out in a authorities funded abortion health center that provides her a condom on her way out the door.

all abortions include removing the embryo
aborted embryo/fetuses can be used for stem cell and other research
contrary to popular belief, there is no ban on this kind of research
what is banned is using taxpayer money for this kind of research
since many taxpayers have significant concerns about this kind of research, it seems wise to not allow public funds to be used this way
privately funded research is not limited by any federal ban

Of course an abortion includes removing an embryo....what did you think it meant?
Stem cells are readily available without using aborted fetus' .....there is little scientific evidence to support the superiority of fetal stem cells over adult stem cells. Not to mention there are TONS of umbilical cords available that are not being used that contain stem cells....

how much do you know about stem cell research? what they do is actually create a "test tube baby" and kill it by taking its cells. thats why so many are against it. it is aborting a baby in the same manner only they are killing what they created!!!! its sick!!!!
