As symbols on amulets or even paintings Animals have human characteristics or mean something. Or even give luck or protect from something.

Do you know something about that, or any animal meaning?
Or do you know any site which names and explain that?
Thanks for helping.

A lot of it depends on the culture. For Eastern native Americans, the Spider was a trickster, whereas for the wester natives, Coyote filled the roll. Also for the Plains and Puebo peoples, the Golden Eagle was ooked upon as the creature who could fly highest, and could even escape into a hole in the sky; they were seen as messangers. The Red-Tailed Hawk was a bird of war, and Purple Martins were bringers of good fortune.

For Wiccansand Celts, the Manchurian Crane, or any Crane, is a symbol of longevity, and the Frog is a symbol of cleansing. The Horse is an animal of travel, and the Mouse is one of seeing things up close and seeing the truth that others cannot see. The Butterfly is a symbol of transformation, and the Snake is wisdom and reincarnation, victory over death. The Fox is cunning and invisibility, and te Wold is the symbol of the teacher and mastery.

Look up Animal Speak. I don't recall who it is by, but it is full of these sorts of assosciations.

Different cultures throughout the years have attributed different meanings and different connotations with different animals. The Chinese for example use the dragon and the phoenix alot. The dragon symbolizes both power and protection and the phoenix represents good luck and rebirth. Even though these aren't real animals they are really common in Chinese culture. Another common animal that is used alot in European and American culture is the bull. It is a symbol of power and prosperity. Companies such as Merril Lynch and Lamborghini use this animal of a symbol to represent this. But like I said before the animals used and the meanings behind them vary with culture.
