Yeah I wonder why a Sex Offender is hailed as a God no matter how much bad he did and why it was ok for him to go to War but because his sucessor goes to War that makes War wrong?

He wasn't impeached before he went into office. He was never, nor is he now, a sex offender, because all he did was cheat, which wouldn't qualify him for sex offender status. All politicians lie, it's kind of their job now.

As far as Clinton goes, the entire impeachment fiasco, which began about some lame real estate thing that even Ken Starr himself said was meaningless, ended up being about if he got head from Monica. Frankly, that issue needed to be settled behind closed doors, and between Bill, Hillary, and Monica. You also forgot to mention that Clinton smoked weed once, and was berated about it every day since.

Bush has abused cocaine on more occassions than one, is an alcoholic (and even that "pretzel" incident that gave him the black eye, some suspect was actually him getting back "on the wagon"), has multiple DUI's, and has had his share of failed businesses. That was before he became president. Does that sound like the qualities held by a good head of state?

While Clinton was being impeached for lying about getting a hummer, several of the impeachers were having affairs of their own. If you are a Republican it's alright, if you are a Democrat it's immoral and a sex offender.

Imagine the irony of it all, that those who tout themselves as protectors of basic decency and morality finding the philandering of our former commander and chief more reprehensible than the arrogant warmongering perpetrated by Bush and his henchmen. I never quite understood how sexual indiscretions translated into a greater public offense than initiating a war under false pretense. The issue is obviously between Mr. Clinton and his wife.

Furthermore, if sexual impropriety of a personal nature is the litmus test for what makes an ideal public figure, than some of our greatest leaders, artist, and thinkers could never have made the impact on society as they have. Thomas Jefferson, John F. Kennedy, Bill Cosby, and Oscar Schindler (you know that German who saved all those Jews) come to mind as individuals who would have been precluded from making a significant contribution if this puritanical standard were used as a measure of a man’s total worth. It is interesting how sanctimonious the Christian Right is in accessing their leaders purely on the basis of something as trivial as his sexual habits, as if that had any relevance to his job. Keep in mind that by that same standard, their own God was a poor judge of character, for even he allowed King David to maintain his monarchy after his own illicit tryst with Bathsheba, and the promiscuity of his son King Solomon did not dissuade Yahweh from seeing the worth and wisdom of Solomon. So in essence these so called Christians, who were the impetus behind this witch-hunt on Clinton, have higher standards than their own God.

Individuals who claim the need to emphasize moral imperatives should see the greater sin in Bush using his powers to move the country into a war, that has cost the needless loss of life on both sides. He is the greater sinner. His actions truly have consequences to the public at large. As many others have pointed out, nobody died as a result of Clinton’s sexual escapade. The Pharisees within our country needed to remove the holier than thou blinders from their eyes before Bush’s actions take their own sons from them.
