I am planning my 18th birthday and would like to have a Broadway theme. Any ideas for food, decorations, party gifts, etc? Thanks!

Have a stage with curtains! Put a sign on your front door that says "stage door." Print off and enlarge musical logos to hang up. Also, most party stores have generic decorations that you can use like camera flashes, musical notes, etc. You can have a Broadway mix playing in the background, and give that mix away on CDs to your guests. Have people dress up as their favorite musical character. I had an awesome party with all of that stuff! They loved it!! :-) Happy birthday!!!

Have people dress up as famous Broadway characters, like have an Elphaba and Galinda, a Phantom, some Cats stuff like that. Play all Broadway music, obviously lol, serve the soft drinks in little plasic fancy glasses and the party gifts could be masquerade masks or something, check out www.orientaltrading.com, they have tons of cheap bulk party things. This sounds so cool I might have to do the same thing on my 18th B-Day!

Karaoke! Movie Posters! Have your guests dress up, hire a professional impersonator, get a Liza Minelli Cardboard cutout! Have sequins everywhere! Play different broadway films on every TV in the house, or move them all into one room and have a wall of broadway TVs! Makea broadway playlist if you have iTunes! Be really excited all the time! Sing everything you saaaaaaaaaaaay! Use exclamation points relentlessly!!!

There is a great CD called "The Best of Broadway" that would be great to play. Also, there is a DVD collection of Broadway performances called "Broadway's Lost Treasures" that would be fun to have playing on a TV in the background. It has performances from Broadway greats past and present. For invitations, you could create a "playbill" and send it out to guests. You could get cheap mirrors and lights and put them on the walls to create a backstage feel.

I don't know of any Broadway "food" per se. So maybe you want a New York theme like Hot Dogs, Pretzels, Nuts. Decorations can be confetti, comedy and tragedy masks. OO you should have a masquerade theme. Make your own mask, you can have feather and paint to decorate.

Sounds like a lot of fun!

You might want to have a certain show (hopefully not Full Monty or Les Miz), like a Little Shop o' Horrors or something. Whatever they sell. You might want to keep away from the general 'It's a Show!' Broadway party stuff. Food can be simple, from whatever country you're from.

For a banquet at school this year we are going to have a similar theme.

Role out a red carpet, have a dress theme~ for the formals and tuxes, like colors: red, white, black, something like that. Look on the net for decorations.
