I just got through taking contacts out of my eyes because they were irritated. For some reason, my sight was clouded afterwards so I turned on the faucet, rinsed my eyes and my eyelids started to swell until I put some ice on them. I thought maybe my contacts were contaminated or too old but I never had a reaction like this before and I've worn lenses for 20 years.

Maybe your city's water has too much chlorine or other chemical softners in it that are causing the reaction. You should be using a sterile saline solution to rinse your eyes out. Check with your eye doctor to see what solutions will work best for you & your contacts.

Some places add things to their water supply...or maybe you had something on your hands. Did you wash them and rinse them well before watering your eyes? There might have been some soap residue, too.

It sounds like there might be something in your water that shouldn't be. Certainly, talk with your eye doctor. And consider sending a water sample to be tested. Good luck!

It could just have been a allergic reaction to something you may have had on your hands. Did you wash your hands real well before you took them out. I sometimes forget to wash my hands before taking mine out, but have never had that problem. If the problems consists you may want to see a doctor. Hope this helps!!
