Mexico and its people I find very friendly. You just have to move beyond the border cities. I and the wife have vacationed in several different parts of Mexico. Each as it own uniqueness. Americans can learn from these people....Like being courteous.
Right now the country is likje America. It is split right down the middle political. I do think political matters will be unsettled there for quite sometime.

Was there for 2&1/2 weeks. Loved it. Traveled from Cancun to Cozumel. Visited Chitzen Itzu and signed up for the terrific tour. Alot of history, beautiful weather and nice people. Wherever you go in Mexico, make sure to get away from the "tourist areas" and get right in with the locals. Better food, better drink and you will find a much better exchange on your $. Have fun!

Well, from what I know, I would say that I really like it. I've only been there for two weeks this winter with my family and I've totally fallen in love with the country. There are many places to visit, such as Chichen Itza (spelling...?), a lot of cultural activities and many things to learn about the people who live there and about their ancestors. Most of all, Mexicans are incredibly friendly, which makes a trip thousands of times nicer!
I don't really know about the political context and the daily life in Mexico though... Maybe it's only a nice place to visit, but not to live in.

I think that it's a nation with the potential to be between the top 20 economies in the world. If Mexico stays with the new order of globalization and free-trade economic world, it's going to be just fine, besides, it's in their destiny to be on the side of the United States and support them.

The tamales are great. I've purchased them right out of a plastic five gallon bucket. VERY tasty.
