because we're not astronomers. Once you see the immensity of the Universe, you'll know that the earth is but a grain of sand in all the beaches of the planet. From the Perspective of the Universe, man does not exist....

We really have no evidence to the contrary. I mean, we may not be at the geometric center of the big bang, and we might be on the outer rim of our own galaxy, but right now we have no evidence that anything else in the entire universe is as special or magnificent as our sentient existence.

Now, if we established contact with intelligent extra-terrestrial life, and some folks STILL felt like we were the center of the universe, then THAT would be narcissistic.

What race are you referring to?

From my perspective, I am at the center of all that exists as, from your perspective, you at the center of all that exists. From where you are, existence goes in every direction infinitely, therefore you are at the crossroads of infinities. And if you think that the universe is finite, then please tell me what is just beyond the border....nothingness? Nothingness, by its very nature lacks existence, therefore that which exists is infinite.

Look up the meaning of the word narcissistic, than perhaps you will change it to conceited.

Because we created a religion that told us that we were the only ones, the chosen ones, and in charge of anything "beneath" us... which is everything but God.
