You can't find opinions on a search engine without taking forever to find it. You can't learn new stuff on search engines because you would have to have the thought already there. Here you read question that just open your mind and it forces you to learn something new or see things from other points of view. That is of course if you let it. Also this is interactive... you get many different explanations to your questions so you will be able to understand something within minutes instead of going through multiple pages on search engines tying to figure it out

What is the point of Yahoo! Answers? Hmm... communication, and notably an even more distant communication than chat rooms allow for you don't generally make friends and speak, you just give your answer out to the people.
And I'm so... yeah, lonely, and so scared of losing myself in other people that I come home from the nightclub alone, and this is a constructive way, for me, of reaching out to people and making me feel clever and powerful. In a way I hate it or maybe it's just alcohol I hate but, either way, it's much more than a search engine. Or is that what human beings are... search engines? No, so much more/I don't know x

Well, the point could be that someone else may have an interesting take on an idea that a search engine would overlook. Like, personal experience. If this is so lame why did you post a question?

The point is its fun company if you're home sick, on vacation and it's pouring rain, lonesome, suicidal, or whatever! There's a lot of great people here, and I like them. The weirdos are fun, too.

This is what we all do after the third beer, in our own kitchen, playing cards with the neighbors.
But this way, we have a much bigger croud.

If you try answering some more questions instead of asking stupid ones you might find it more productive.
