Because the "family values" politicians don't really value the family.

The gov wants you poor and working so much you have no money or time to get in their shorts for their flagrant mismanagement of everything!

Alaska pays their residents with an earth rights system and has NO state income tax and no sales tax! If our gov was not working against us they would have put an earth rights system in place for the nation 30 years ago like Alaska did. Earth rights is a system where oil, minerals, ores, ect, everything from the earth belongs to the citizens. The companies that take the earths goods pay the state for them. The money goes into a fund and the fund pays the state salaries, infrastructure, schools, roads, ect, and pays all 660,000+ residents about $1000 p yr.

Every fed official knows about Alaska, and you have never heard that there is a way that works to pay you and not tax you. The feds use smoke and mirrors, propaganda, and lies to hide their rampant mismanagement.

Every American deserves earth rights with a pay check, not a tax bill and a ton of paper work to boot. Want to stop this ? NEVER vote for ANY Democrat or Repaublican ever again. If you do, you deserve to get screwed you voted for getting screwed.

My kids are doing just fine with both my wife and I working. They are Honor Roll Students with numerous achievement awards. From where I sit if one of us stayed home we would only make things worse. I think the tax dollars would be better spent elsewhere.

BTW your not a politician fishing for an issue to posture yourself in an upcoming election?

Because if you were to remove all of the married couples with children from the work force (and therefore from the number of people who pay taxes) there wouldn't be anywhere close to enough money to support them, even at a minimalistic level. Also, that would lead to people having children just to get a "free ride" etc.

I agree with you when it comes to the kids but it is not the responsibility of the government to pay for it. Besides, we're the ones (taxpayers) that have to pay for it and money doesn't grow on trees.

Isn't that what welfare is doing already?

It is an individual choice to stay home instead of working. Why is it therefore the government's (read: my) responsibility to pay for your life choices? If you want to stay home, great. I'm sure it will be much better for your children. But don't expect anyone else to pay you for it. It was your choice. You deal with it.
