Cold turkey! Right around 9 in the morning.

Don't smoke again! Keep a lot of tea and coffee and sugar free gum around. Don't make the mistake of using nicotine gum or "patches," they will put nicotinein your bloodstream and soon you'll have a real cigarette in your mouth, too.

Now, how to stay off cigarettes? The same day you quit smoking, take up JOGGING for at least 20 minutes a day or, even better, LAP SWIMMING. This is so stressful on the lungs, you won't want to gum them up with tobacco smoke, and that clean lung fetish will keep you away from going back to smoking.

It's a very very hard habit to kick.

Cold turkey. Then do your best to stay away from friends that smoke and places where you bought your smokes. Until you are strong enough to say no. Good Luck!!!!! Non smoker for 4 years!

You have to really have the will power to do it. Don't do it just because someone else wants you to. You have to do it for you or you probably won't be successful. Stay clear of non-supporters for a while. I personally did not drink any alcohol for a while either because I knew it was a "trigger." According to my reserach, the physical withdrawls only last 3 days...after that, it is all in your mind. Check out www.quitnet.com. There is a lot of useful / helpful information there and a great support group.

the best way I've been told is to stop quickly and smoke weed that would definitely take your mind off ciggarettes. And it only makes you lazy and hungry if you don't like excercising anyway

Cold turkey worked best for me. They say it only takes 28 days to break a habit. :)

Coat your cigarette filters with vaseline or hot sauce. LOL

Seriously though, my husband quit by using the Nicorette gum.
