The answer to your question is YES you should see a gyno as soon as you become sexually active and if you aren't sexually active by the age of 18 yrs. then you should start seeing a gyno anyway. I am Christian.

Yes Christian women see the gynecologist. I was raised Catholic and I had my first visit at 16. It is very important to go and maintain your health, or to catch problems in the early stages so that you have a better possibility of recovery

Maybe they're just not telling you. You should see a GYN when you start your period so that he/she can check you and make sure you're healthy. There's no mystery there and no reason for the 18 year rule. It has nothing to do with being a good or bad christian girl. It's about you staying healthy, most importantly.

YES!! going to see the gynecologist is very very important....
getting routine pap smears can detect pre-cancerious cells, cancer, and other problems. Just because you are a Christian and believe in abstaining in sex until married doesn't mean you shouldn't go to the gynecologist and get routine exams. It is just as important as going to the doctor for annual physicals.
And for the record, I am a Christian and I still believe it is important to go to the doc regularly...

I'm a Christian. I visit the gyn every year. It is completely necessary to take care of your body. It's unpleasant, but it has to be done. They check you for cervical cancer and other problems.
I'm not sure about 18 years, but if you are sexually active you should go every year.
Good luck!

yes. this has nothing to do with religion. some religions do feel it's wrong to see a doctor. but it is very important, maybe uncomfortable, to see a gynecologist. It helps let you know if you are healthy, or if you have any problems in any female areas. if you have problems with your periods your doctor can tell you why.

Girls should go see a gynecologists after you become sexual active. not just when your 18 but i didn't become sexually active till i was 18 so i didn't go till i was 18 and there is no reason (god wise) why you have to wait to go...if you have issues you can go sooner. it not as bad as everyone said.

She is not going there for religious reasons. Christian girls have the same cancers and diseases atheists or girls of other religions have, so go for your health's sake and keep your religion to yourself. If your religion was better than other religions, or no religion, you could pray and never have to see a Gyn.

It does not depend on your religion whether or not you should see a gyno. Every woman should see one yearly. Gyno's check to see how your reproductive system is working and they can find out whether you have any problems such as: HPV, Endometriosis, Cervical cancer, ect. I am a mormon and I went to one when I was 16. You should go see one!
