Makeup for my girlfriend(colors) help!?

Her bday is comin up and she loves makeup so i want 2 get it she is brown-skinned, has dark brown eyes and hair..what colors do u think will look good on her??

Hey. I am a Mary Kay consultant and my website has a color profile section where you can go on, pick the colors of your girlfriends face, the shape of her eyes, etc. and then you can play around with some of the colors and the computer will generate what the colors will look like on your girlfriend. It's fun at least to check it out. You could also give her a gift certificate to a makeup place where she could pick out her own colors.

Well there are many choices.
If she is medium-brown (skin toned)

Blush-most colors work great, beware nothing shimmery or frosty. Pale pink, to deep berry for cool colors and medium tone peach to bronze-colored brown would work best.

eyes-depending on your look just keep a rule of thumb, blend, blend, blend.
use brown liners for subtle look and black or dark blue ones for a dramatic look same with mascara.
eyeshadow should be the same. If you use a duo or quad(eyeshadow with 4 colors) make sure you start with the lightest color as your base and use the next darkest color to blend. But, you have to experiment first!

Lips-this one is easy, since nowadays the "full-bodied color" lips are out. You can pick any shade of gloss you want, depending on your look and mood. Try the sheer glosses first, then try the shimmery ones for a little drama.

Hmm... Try covertly sneaking into her bathroom and checking out what colors she wears. However, a berry lipgloss with a tofee colored shadow would look amazing, as would a peach gloss with apricot blush and some neutral eyeshadow. Dark brown eyes can wear almost any color of shadow, so you're pretty safe with that.
Of course, getting her makeup might not be a good idea. She might take it as you thinking she's not pretty without it. So be careful. Maybe, if you want to be completely safe, go for a fragrence you think would smell amazing on her.

Rather than blindly picking, set up a makeover appointment for her at Macy's/Marshall Fields, Sephora or Lord and Taylor....any high end store with a large cosmetics area. Make the appointment a week in advance and make sure it's with a person who is skilled in the care of darker skin. Then tell your girlfriend that she can buy up to $XXX in cosmetics that will make her feel beautiful on the inside and the outside.

None of us can give you really good advice because we just don't know enough about her. But if you take her to a cosmetics department full of professionals, she'll love you for it. That way she can pick out new things that aren't already in her collection and can get a good makeover out of it, too.


BTW, a small nosegay of flowers and a nice dinner will help, too :D

If she is about your complexion (and I'm just talking about your avatar here), I'd recommend gold, bronze, copper, coral, and sparkly peach toned bronzers, eyeshadows, nail polishes, lipsticks, and blushes. Those colors always seem really pretty to me on brown skin.

However, if you're a smart man, you'll let her shop for herself. I think the best thing you can do for her is to get her a gift certificate to her favorite store or place to get makeup and take her shopping there. She knows what she likes, and she knows what looks best on her. You can simply accompany her in a supervisory capacity. =)

it depends on her personality which colors she'd personally like. for darker ppl berries look good. buying her makeup might be dangerous. mabey get her a lip gloss and buy her an outfit. or order her a really pretty thing of flowers and have it publicly delivered to her, like where ever she works or if she plays sports @ practice. girls REALLY like it when guys suprises, even if we say we don't we really do. or you could take her $hopping, but that would probibly b more money than u probibly wana spend. or if u live near a city walk down town together. just be thoughtful. girls love that.

lip gloss!! all girls LOVE lipgloss. and i think that gold, or a dark blue or purple or green and maybe some natural brown eye color would be good... id have to see what she loked like, but those would probly be good and espesially lip gloss, also maybe some black eyeliner and some colored mascara. do not get her cheap stuff get her good brands; try maybelline new york.
