I really don't understand why you're trying to compare the two. Because they have the same last name? If it weren't for C.Ronaldo's pathetic antics (diving/faking) this world cup, then nobody would talk about him because he really didn't do much of anything. As for the Brazilian Ronaldo, he was actually able to accomplish what was asked of him and that was to get the ball in the opponents' net. They're popular for very different reasons. The only people who seem love C.Ronaldo are vision impaired little girls who want to talk about how cute he is. BTW, ewwww.

Christiano Ronaldo should be more famous at this World Cup he played a lot better than the Brazilian Ronaldo, and this was his debut with the national team, the old Ronaldo is already proved as a player and is legend with his 15 goals total in World Cup games.
