I had 3 broken ribs on front, and 1 broken on my back when I was hit too hard in a Karate tournament back in 1993. I was hit so hard, my liver was torn as well.

It took about 8 weeks before I was healed, and even then, my physician said my ribs will never be as strong as they were pre-break, and to always be extra careful.

Well, it took mine about 3-4 weeks to heal up enough that it didn't kill me just to breathe, and about another 6 weeks before it didn't bother me too much to do my regular activities (rugby--stupid, I know, but I just had to get back out on the field.)

My ribs still hurt when I touch them and it's been almost 10 years since my injury (I also had some internal injuries.) So have fun with that. Kids, don't break your ribs! It hurts. A lot. And the pain never ends...but it gets better.

It depends on the type of fracture, but in general it will take 4 to 6 weeks to heal.

All broken bones require 6 weeks to heal - some require longer if they are really severe, but generally 6 weeks.

I broke 2 ribs last year, and it took about 6 weeks before I could move comfortably. Good luck! Broken ribs suck!

It depends on the severity but it could take up to 4 months if real severe. Even a hairline fracture can take 8 to 12 weeks.
