I want to upgrade my Pentium 2 Processor, but it is a slot type and i'm not sure if a Pentium 4 socket style processor will fit in it. Advice???

Your question is very confusing. It's not clear if you are talking about somehow upgrading the processor itself or if you mean you wish to upgrade your computer so that it has a faster processor in it. If it's the latter, the answer is as follows.
You cannot plug in a Pentium 4 processor in your old motherboard. You will have to purchase a new motherboard that will be compatible with the kind of processor you want your computer to have. Pentium 4 processor chips come with different pin configurations, so do not expect any new motherboard to work with any Pentium 4 processor either. You will need to check and match the motherboard's processor socket with the processor's pin configuration. Also, you will not be able to use your old memory modules with a new motherboard. The easy upgrade option for you would be to buy a new ready-made computer from a company like Dell, because just for upgrading the processor you will find that you will have to upgrade many more components other than the motherboard and memory (e.g. the graphics card, sound card, power supply unit, and maybe the case will have to be upgraded too).

Absolutely. Pentium 4 chips use different voltages as well as different sockets and you CANNOT use a Pentium 4 CPU in a Pentium 2 system (you wouldn't want to even if you could as much of the technology enabling a pentium 4 to perform fast on many levels was simply not around in 6-8 year old Pentium 2 systems.
(Even some older Pentium 4 boards will not operate with newer Pentium 4 chips).

No, you cannot upgrade.
Even the case probably does not have enough voltage on the 12v rail to run a pentium 4.
If you are on a budget you can get a refurbished or used pentinum 4, and remove the old hard drive from your old computer and install it as a second harddrive in your new computer so you have all your stuff.
