Headaches are very common in pregnancy. It is due to the increased blood volume in your body. It's having to work double time to make sure there is enough blood flowing to your body and your baby. Tylenol is the only thing you can take but drinking a little caffiene always helped me. If they are severe and persistant, then you do need to talk to your doctor. There is an increased risk of stroke while pregnant and headaches are one of the symptoms. It is rare but always let your doctor know anyways!! Good Luck and Congratulations.

Headaches during pregnancy are more common that most think. According to my Dr. they are due to hormonal changes. If you are prone to migraines, pregnancy will either make them go away or make them worse. In my case; worse! I have migraine headaches approximately 2-3 days a week. My Dr. has said Tylenol is ok, although it doesn't really help. He also prescribed Tylenol with codeine, and it made me feel very strange, so I haven't taken again. The only thing that really helps is to take 2 Tylenol + Benadryl. (which knocks me out) The advice nurse suggested I do that to help sleep it off especially when I've had it for 2 days straight. Otherwise the Tylenol on its own basically takes the pounding away. My Dr. offered to look into Migraine Medication, but I don't want to risk it. He insists Tylenol is ok, so I take it when I absolutely need it and it seems to help. I'm 29 weeks and have been dealing with this the entire pregnancy.
Hope yours get better!

You do need to worry about these headaches if you are seeing spots before the eyes or are feeling dizzy as well. You may want to keep a pretty good watch on your blood pressure to be sure that the headaches are not caused by and increase in your blood pressure.

I've heard that it's common to get headaches during your pregnancy, especially your first trimester due to all the hormonal changes your body is going through. I've heard they get better during the second trimester, so you shouldn't have much longer to go. If they're severe or unbearable, I'd ask you dr. ASAP and it wouldn't hurt to bring up at your next appt. regardless just to be on the safe side. If you do take something for them, DON'T take NSAIDs (Aleve, Advil, aspirin...) as they have known to cause miscarriages and other problems. I guess Tylenol is the only "safe" otc pain reliever to use if you absolutely have to take something. Be sure to discuss with your dr., though, as everything nowadays says to ask your dr. before taking.

Maybe you should have had a headache then you wouldn't be pregnant. LOL, This can be normal due to your body is still adjusting with the baby, and you may be overworking your body and not know it.

It is normal. It is all of the hormones that are racing through your body. I suffered from migraines while pregnant. You can take tylenol, but if you are like me... that won't be enough. Talk to your doctor if it is a problem. They ended up giving me some tylenol with codiene. They assured me it was safe. I didn't take them very often, but when it was bad..... they worked great!
Good luck with your pregnancy!

I experienced headaches with all four kids. I found that a little bit of regular coke and tylenol usually got rid of the headaches and migraines.

Very normal. I had migraines that escalated throughout my pregnancies. It's just all the hormones going crazy. Some doctors ok Tylenol after your first trimester, so ask if you can take that at your next appointment.
